Taxi
Service
Many
of Daytona Beach's taxi services are available throughout the
area. Many provide service to/from Daytona Beach International
Airport round the clock. Fares are calculated per mile and cost,
roughtly, $10.00 from the airport to Central Daytona Beach.
Tipping is customary at a rate of 10% - 15%.
Bus Transportation
Public transportation via bus and trolley service is an efficient
and cost effective way around Daytona Beach. Adult fare are
$1.00. Senior citizens, children and physically challenged are
$.50. Schedules for the buses and Trolleys are available at
area supermarkets, Eckerd's and Walgreen's drugstores.
There
is also FREE beach tram which takes visitors to and from the
Ocean Center Parking Garage to several designated stops along
the beach.
Vechile-Free
Zone
A Vechile-free zone is enforced in front of Daytona Beach's
Boardwalk, Main St. Pier and Bandshell to allow beachgoers a
clear, family oriented beach experience. The 1,500-space OceN
Center Parking Garage is open. Parking fees are $1 per half-hour
and a maximum of $5 per day. Visitors may take the FREE beach
tram, noted above.
Conduct in Daytona Beach
- Driving
at such a slow speed as to impede the normal and reasonable
flow of traffic (i.e. stopping to talk to pedestrians) is
prohibited. (F.S.S. 316.183(5))
- It is
unlawful for pedestrians to impede or obstruct the flow of
vehicular traffic. (F.S.S. 316.2045)
- Mufflers:
Every motor vehicle shall at all times be equipped with an
exhaust system in good working order and in constant operation,
including muffler, manifold pipe and tail piping to prevent
excessive or unusual noise. (F.S.S. 316.272)
- Handlebars:
Motorcycle handlebars shall not be mounted so that any part
of the bars will exceed 15 inches in height above that portion
of the seat occupied by the operator. (F.S.S. 316.2095 (2))
- Protective
Headgear: A person over 21 years of age may operate or ride
upon a motorcycle without wearing protective headgear securely
fastened upon his or her head if such person is covered by
an insurance policy providing for at least $10,000 in medical
benefits for injuries incurred as a result of a crash while
operating or riding on a motorcycle. (F.S.S. 316.211.3.b)
- Headlights:
Headlights on motorcycles must be turned on at all times when
the motorcycle is in motion (24 hours a day) (F.S.S. 316.406
(1) and 316.400 (2))
- The carrying
or consumption of an open alcoholic beverage (including beer)
is prohibited on the City streets, sidewalks or right of ways.
This applies to pedestrians and occupants of motor vehicles.

- Trespassing
on motel property where you are not registered as a guest
may result in your arrest. (F.S.S. 810.08)
- Carrying
or displaying an undomesticated animal (i.e. snakes or large
lizards) in a public place is prohibited. (City Ordinance
7-8)
- It is
unlawful for any person under the age of 21 years to possess
alcoholic beverages or to misrepresent or misstate his or
her age to buy alcoholic beverages. (F.S.S. 562.111 Possession
Under 21); (F.S.S. 562.11(2) Misrepresentation of Age)
- Vending
without a permit is prohibited. (City Ordinance 41-12)
- Lewd
and lascivious behavior (nudity-exposure) is prohibited. (City
Ordinance 29-5 and City Ordinance 29-3)
- Littering
is prohibited. (City Ordinance 18-3)
- It is
unlawful to carry a concealed weapon or firearm. (F.S.S. 790.01(1)

- Carrying
a weapon or firearm in a vehicle readily accessible for immediate
use is prohibited. (F.S.S. 790.01(1) Weapons); (F.S.S. 790.01
Firearms)
- Parking
of motor vehicles on private property and/or blocking driveways
may result in fines and the vehicle being towed. (City Ordinance
45-5)
